P004 → Vidimo-Nevidimo Silk Scarfes
Vidimo-Nevidimo is a curatorial project exploring russian happiness, led by four curators (me, Katerina Konoiko & Igor Tarasov /↗NOW.HERE Studio/, Maxim Maslov). In that project we had multiple roles, not only as designers, but also art directors, curators and artists.
After a series of discussions, we identified key themes and invited 20+ artists for free research. The project took the form of headscarves, symbolizing Russian stereotypes: an impassable snowstorm, lost time, 90s cars, an egg in a duck with a needle. It was presented at the “Visual Studies on Russian Culture” exhibition in the Library of the Book Graphics (Saint-Petersburg), where it caught the attention of Cartier’s director, leading to an invitation for an exhibition in Paris.
